Abingdon Branch mixed trains cars question

>From the 50s, J-C Silver Sides had a respectable kit for the BPe, if you happen to have one lying around. The one in the photo was pretty much built from what was in the box (wood block battery box, pot metal ends and brake system, etc.); the only parts upgrade was a Walthers styrene roof, which they once offered as an aftermarket part.

I wonder how those sides would look with a nice cast resin roof and ends, contemporary details, etc. Hmmm....     :)
