Per the 1975 N&W Equipment Guide that I got from the society some time ago, the B7a was from 1929-30 built boxcars that were rebuilt in 1948-49. They were in car number series 50000-50499. But as of that date only 6 were owned.
There are also 6 B7 cars listed in the 47500-47999 series. Originally built in 1929-30 and rebuilt in 1945-46. I don’t know what the differences are.

I think the 50450 may be the most known N&W car due to the movie followed by the R-W-B Bicentennial hopper.
Was the B-7a class large in numbers? What era are they from?

It is a B7a, which is a Roanoke rebuild of an older car. You would have to kitbash or scratchbuild, since it does not resemble an ARR design car (which is the basis of most HO models).

Hello everybody I was wondering if anybody here knew what kind of boxcar the N&W 50450 is. I always found that car neat and was wondering if any of you guys know what kind of car it is and if it’s ever been made in ho scale?
Sincerely,
Jeff Mueller
