Jim, old friend, I'm not arguing. And your disbelief is understandable. A
very reliable source talked to Westerfield himself and was told that he did
make a Gkd, and that after about a dozen the mold broke. I take legends
like that with a grain of salt. But just as a check on my senility I ran
down to the basement and found the one that I have. I don't know if the
new owner has redone them or plans to.
And if you browse the 'net you'll see an outfit called-IIRC--Concept models
that catalogued VGN and N&W battleship gons. We got some. They are
absolutely awful. I got Summers and Munson to review them with me and they
turned purple. After looking at them carefully--okay, even from two feet
away--they are a redo of the old Red Ball N&W battleship gon. I doubt
anyone would find them useful, unless majorly bashed, nowadays. [Now that
I've said that, I'd bet a cup of coffee that Jim Nichols has done that, but
for most of us......]
