Others with more in-depth knowledge than I can chime in, but I will just
add that much more is known and available about the "big gons" of N&W and
VGN than was known in 1958. As modelers we accept such levels of detail as
suit our needs and wishes, but if prototype fidelity is the aim, then the
resin kit of the VGN car is as good a starting point as is available.

In truth, there is no single source of data and drawings of these cars
short of the Archives. But a book is said to be "in the works."

Re the Gkd: I tried to get Al Westerfield and others interested in
producing an accurate model of this series, which, as has been stated, was
numerous and active into the late steam era. I failed!
