I don’t know Gary, but getting a transplant is great news. Kidney transplants are sometimes the result of a chain of transplants triggered by one gift. If that’s the case, there’ll be many families receiving a blessing at the same time.

Normally we do not post things about members, but many of you may know or remember member Gary Price. Gary served on our Board some years back and worked for Norfolk Southern as part of a track gang. Gary also organized our convention in Bristol some years back and lives in Marion, Va.

Gary had to retire early as his kidneys were failing, and he had to begin to undergo dialysis. A few weeks ago, Gary got notice from University of Virginia Hospital that they would have a kidney transplant match for him and to be prepared to travel to UVA on short notice.

He got the notice last night apparently at 11:30 pm, and had to be in Charlottesville by 4:30 this morning for surgery, roughly a three hour and fifteen minute drive. 

Many have not seen Gary in years, and he has not been as active, obviously due to his dialysis needs.

We all wish Gary well and total success in this now life-changing event.
