I'll third the scale trains recommendation, but take it one step farther.
The MTH version is regarded as the best, because of both running
characteristics, but it also has working class lights and the smoke unit
won't melt the boiler like the BLI one can. Scale Trains will also be
releasing the matching passenger cars, so they will all look the same color
if you're looking for them.
On the flip side, the Bachmann one is available now, and will probably be
far cheaper.
