  Funding Notes:
If you would like to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) gift from your IRA account, automatic clearing house (ACH) transfers are the most efficient and cost-effective payment method for gifts up to $1 million USD, meaning that Norfolk & Western Historical Society gets more from your donation to fulfill its mission.  When you take funds from your IRA, they count as taxable income. But if you transfer them directly to charity, you reduce your taxable income while satisfying your RMD. Please reach out to Ken Musante, musante at nwhs.org (our treasurer) for instructions on how to make this happen.
Also, when donating, please let us know whether you wish it to go to Operations or to Capital Expense (Restricted).
