Hi,

You are invited to join us as we play waterpolo at Highland Park Pool
from 10:30 am to noon on Tuesday -- and for the remainder of the week
at the same time and place.

We're holding waterpolo practice from 10:30 am to noon at Highland
Park Pool tomorrow, (Tuesday). We'll have practices at Highland Park
Pool on:

Tuesday, August 25, 10:30 am to noon
Wednesday, August 26, 10:30 am to noon
Thursday, August 27, 10:30 am to noon
Friday, August 28, 10:30 am to noon

Then on SATURDAY, we'll be playing a series of GAMES water polo at IUP
(Indiana University of Pennsylvania).
We'll have a game for girls, another for boys and a third for JV /
NOVICE players. Our competition is The Lawrence School, a prep school
in New Jersey.

Arrival at Saturday is at 8 am -- very early.

But first, we have to get together again for practice.

New players are welcome -- and NEEDED. No cost!

If you want to see some photos and video from the past sessions in the
recent two weeks go to: http://CLOH.wikia.com.

Citiparks has given us good support for the program. The goals have
been moved from Ammon to Highland Park Pool. Help us milk every last
moment out of summer!

As for the trip to IUP....

Some of us were talking about doing a mini-camping trip on Friday
night in advance of the water polo games at IUP on Saturday morning.

Beyond waterpolo, you're invited to consider joining us on a 2-day 140
mile bike trip -- That Dam Ride on September 12 and 13th.
http://www.thatdamride.org/
The registration deadline is only one day away, $65. Benefits the
Mon-Yough Trail Council. My son and I did this ride in the past and
had a great time. In 2009, I'll do it with both of my boys.

I'm thinking it might be great to repeat the Dam Ride again, with a
small group of kids and parents, on our own in the period of the G-20
in Pittsburgh, September 24 and 25. School will be off in Pittsburgh
for that Thursday and Friday, plus the Monday for a Jewish Holiday. So
we'll have a five day weekend when it might make great sense to get
out of town.

On the afternoon and evening of Tuesday of the Pittsburgh G-20 week,
an interesting event is being organized by some political friends. A
few of the speakers are splendid educational presenters.
http://www.freedomconference2009.com/ This activity will differ
greatly from the protests that are sure to occur later in the week and
the chatter at the Convention Center among finance ministers.

Summer of 2010 comes into focus this week and next month with meetings
and a big grant program with Pittsburgh Public Schools. A big push is
brewing for summer enrichment for middle school aged students. Federal
stimulus money is going to be leveraged in those efforts. If you are
interested in youth programs, get on board now.

Interactions are welcomed at the swim pool, on the bike trails, with
2010 summer planning, and G-20 educational events -- as well as online
