[412-public-news] Open water seminar in the swim pool on Saturday

Hi,

If you've ever considered doing a triathlon or swimming in an open water
event, we have to hook you into a pending seminar on Saturday, Nov 5 at
Oliver High School pool on the Northside.

In other news, I've asked for school board, or else the new superintendent,
to support water polo with some funding instead of another team with a
single participant.

More than 100 middle school kids in the city have been playing water polo
from three schools. Plus the Saturday Swim School and summer efforts with
Summer Dreamers and The Pittsburgh Project are proving that the kids enjoy
this games-based approach in aquatic activities.

We have room for more participants and volunteers.

You are invited to get a squad of friends (adults, kids, or any
combination) together and join a pending house league at the Saturday Swim
School. We're playing a fun, inter-generational game that uses a water
disk. It is a bit like water polo but easier for rookies.

Another aquatic cross-training activity that you might consider for the
winter weeks ahead is underwater hockey. Pittsburgh is a hockey town. Dust
off your mask, snorkel and fins, if you have them, and drop in at the pool.
