[game_preservation] Pac-Man early location testing?

I was curious if anyone knew if certain arcade games might have received
early location testing in the arcades. Pac-Man was presented to buyers in
the October 1980 AMOA show, but I've got a student who claims having played
it in June 1980. I was curious if the arcade games might have seen testing
sooner at certain locations. Otherwise, there is no physical documentation
to support this statement.
