[game_preservation] CD/DVD Rot Data

I'm in the process of gathering data on optical media migration for
publication/presentation this spring. I'd like to be able to make a case
for/against immediate action, so the more evidence available, the better.
I've come across anecdotes and data from archives on recordable discs (and
they're absolutely nightmarish), but there aren't many communities working
with pressed CD/DVDs.

Given the prevalence of CD/DVDs as game medium, I'm curious if anyone in
the game preservation community has anecdotes or data on the readability of
commerically-manufactured discs over time. If there's more specific
information (type of damage, age of bad discs, manufacturer of bad discs,
etc), that would be tremendously useful as well.

Thanks!
