Hey everyone,

Providence has decided it's spring, although it's been switching back
and forth between warm, nice out spring and cold rainy spring. (And
apparently it's supposed to snow on Friday, but if I wanted to believe
weather forecasts I wouldn't live in New England.) This state of
affairs will probably last through the first half of summer.

After a March with hardly any shows I'm entering another period where
I'll be quite busy indeed. Before I talk about the shows of the next
couple of weeks, though, I wanted to announce a couple of pieces of
news.

First of all, starting this coming Monday March 29 I'm going to be
hosting the Monday night open mike at Everyman Bistro (311 Iron Horse
Way in Providence, just off Valley Street). There's also a Wednesday
night open mike which is run by Joe Auger.

Signup for the open mike starts at 8:30, and the open mike itself
generally gets rolling around 9:15 pm. If you're a musician looking
for places to play, I hope you come check us out! I've also booked
some great featured acts; in March and April alone I've got Stevie
Lightnin' on March 29, Worcester bluesman Kevin James on April 5,
Chris Monti is guest-hosting on April 12, Millee Tibbs on April 19,
and Mark Cutler on April 26. I'm really looking forward to these
shows and I hope you can make it to some of them! You can see the
full open mike schedule at <http://music.jwgh.org/openmike.html>.

I've also booked a couple of shows outside of New England. These are
a ways in the future, but I wanted to get the word out early ... first
up I'm returning to the Alphabet Lounge in Manhattan, NY on Saturday
May 22, where as before I'll be playing 7-7:45 pm and the cover will
be $10. Then, on Saturday June 19 I'll have a show down near DC, at
Mad City Columbia, 10801 Hickory Ridge RD in Columbia, Maryland. That
one will be 6:30-9:30 pm and will have no cover charge. As always,
you can see my full schedule at <http://music.jwgh.org/gigs.html>.

So there's lots to look forward to. Specifically, in the next couple
of weeks here are the shows I've got going:

Saturday March 27 -- SOLO SHOW
-----------------
WHERE: The CBC Coffee House at the Central Baptist Church, 99
Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, RI 02835
WHEN: 7-10 pm
COVER: $5

I'll be doing a set at this annual fundraiser for Jamestown's Central
Baptist Church. Allysen Callery, Kim Lamothe, and possibly others
will also perform.

Thursday April 1 -- ELECTRIC KILLDEVILS SHOW
----------------
WHERE: Nick-a-Nees, 75 South Street, Providence, RI
WHEN: 9 pm to midnight

Another free electric show at Nick-a-Nees (75 South Street in
Providence) with me, Chris Monti, drummer Matt McLaren, and bassist
Marty Ballou. Bring your dog and enjoy the show!

Sunday April 4 -- ACOUSTIC KILLDEVILS SHOW (brunch show)
--------------
WHERE: The Liberty Elm, 777 Elmwood Avenue, Providence, RI 02907
WHEN: 11 am - 1 pm

Did you know that the Liberty Elm was recently featured on the
'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives' show on the Food Network? The video's
here: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omqqpvTSkL4> Every time I see
the video I become hungry for a turkey sandwich.

Anyway, this will be an all-acoustic brunch show. Chris and I will
play acoustic.

Friday April 9 -- SOLO SHOW (Songwriters in the Round anniversary show)
--------------
WHERE: AS220, 115 Empire Street, Providence, RI
WHEN: 8 pm
COVER: $10

This all-star celebration of the Songwriters in the Round series put
on by RISA every month will feature music by Ryan Fitzsimmons, Joanne
Lurgio, Jim Tata, me, John Fuzek, Malyssa Bellarosa, Kayla Ringelheim,
Jan Luby, Mark Cutler, Allysen Callery, Heather Rose, John Windle,
Garry Foisy, Paul Pasch, and Steve Allain.

And that's it for the next couple of weeks. As always, you can see
all of my currently scheduled shows at <http://music.jwgh.org/
gigs.html> (and I've recently added facebook links to the page, so if
shows have facebook events linked to them you can get to them just by
clicking on the facebook icon).

Have a great week!

So long,
