Hi all,

This month is action packed! (Admittedly a lot of the action involves me sitting in front of my computer.)

========================================================

My Kickstarter campaign, which when I last wrote to you had raised about $1200, is now above $1500 just a few days later -- giving me hope that I will not only meet my goal of $1750, but that I will exceed it!

If I exceed that $1750 goal, I'll put the extra money into making the project better and more awesome: if I exceed it by $250 I'll add Tom Waits and Flaming Lips song to the album; if I exceed it by $500 then in addition I'll get my friends Tracie Potochnik and Chris Monti to cover some of my songs, with recordings of those covers going to everyone who pledged to the Kickstarter; and if I exceed it by $750 (hard to consider!) then I'll commission an artist to make an illustrated lyric sheet for one of my songs.

It all seems within reach, but there are just a few days left -- the campaign ends September 9. Spread the word! You can link to the Kickstarter project at http://kickstarter.jwgh.org/ .

========================================================

I've also just launched my very own podcast. If you're not familiar with podcasts, they're sort of like a radio show, except you download them over the Internet; there are various programs, such as iTunes, which can be used to subscribe to them, so that when there's a new episode of the podcast it's automatically downloaded to your computer or smartphone.

My podcast is called 'Tell Me About Your Song' and in it I interview musicians about songs they've written. My first interview is with Tracie Potochnik about her song 'Cecilia & The Saints' and I'm quite pleased with how it came out; you can hear the episode, and read some notes about the show, at http://yoursongpodcast.tumblr.com/post/59938910245/for-the-first-episode-of-tell-me-about-your-song .

The podcast is not yet in the iTunes store -- it can take up to a couple of weeks to get approved apparently -- but I put together some instructions on how to subscribe to it using iTunes on your computer, or directly from your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone. These instructions can be found here: http://yoursongpodcast.tumblr.com/post/59975300250/how-to-subscribe-to-the-tell-me-about-your-song-podcast

If you encounter any problems, or have any questions or comments, then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

I'm sad that the Smile Makers aren't able to play the show, but I think we've managed to pull together a pretty great show in their absence! I'll be headlining the show, with Eric Donaldson opening, and Tracie Potochnik also playing a set.
