According to the CIA factbook, it matters enough that the long but
narrow Greenland is divided into 4 timezones, with the capital UTC -
3. The 56,000 residents enjoy the many benefits of daylight
saving :-) Greenland has a home-rule government. It withdrew from
the EU due to a dispute over fishing quotas.

As described by Jared Diamond's "Collapse", the economy of the
original colony was agrarian. The settlers did not fish, as
remarkable as that seems. To the extent that timekeeping was
necessary, that timekeeping would have referenced the local sun,
whether mean or apparent.
