While the subject's broached, I can't seem to find a version of
MultiMarkdown written in Perl or Python, only PHP. Which is -- less than
ideal for the purpose I'm currently putting the thing to.

Am I missing an obvious source?

(Tables and Footnotes would be wonderful things, indeed.)
