Unfortunately this is apparently becoming the norm here. There's
off-topic stuff, fits and starts of conversations about
forking/rewriting/expanding/standardizing markdown, and very occasional
questions about usage or edge case problems.

Fortunately (for me anyway) markdown "just works".
