Thanks for the pointer.  I'm a command line junkie, so it was
really quick and easy to:

- install "npm" on my Mac using MacPorts
- install markdown-it using npm
- modify my $PATH environment variable to search the Node.js bin

Looking forward kicking the tires on it.
