js syntax highlighting for markdown (not for codeblocks in markdown)

honest question: why specifically is it
that you would like syntax highlighting?

i can imagine benefits, but am uncertain
exactly which one(s) you're looking for.

the reason i ask is that i believe that it
might be possible to get what you want
via easier means. but i'm just not sure
what it is -- precisely -- that you want...
