Yes, she did. There is a wonderful video called "Assault on Ashville" which
documents this move and several others. The 611, Southern's #587, and 1218
triple headed out of Lynchberg. The "J" could not make the run to Ashville
because it's wheelbase was to long for the curves. But 587 and 1218, with
her articulation, did. The video is put out by the NRHS and Berkshire
Videography, produced and directed by Grant Geist, 60 minutes long.
