Southern had five classes of box cars with 30" rond hatches at the time of the merger, both 40' and 50', 50 to 70 ton. All went to the merger and some can occasionally be seen. Most were dedicated to specific mineral cargo. Hope this helps. Cal Reynolds-SRHA
