Just I wonder what would have happened if the N&W replaced the J's with EMD
E-8's and kept the rounded observation cars on the Arrow. That would have
been a nice looking train. But what we had was Stuart Saunders and the GP9
and the observation cars went to Saudi Arabia. Oh well.

Ted,
I have the same query concerning the Riverossi N&W Tuscan E8 model. I
know the N&W did not purchase any car body diesels, but leased several units
from the SCL and the RF & P. Also, the N&W permitted the Tennessian, a
shared passenger effort with the Southern RR which used E8 motive power.
I've been looking for some historical data concerning the E8's and F7's which
were obtained by the N & W during the merger with the Wabash. What I found
was a web site (http://nwry.railfan.net/rosterpix.html) which provided a 1968
N&W diesel roster which list GM-EMD E8A numbers (3808 and 3815). The (3815)
is the number depicted on the Riverossi E8A model. There is no picture, so
there is no way of determining what color it was. Just above the entry on
the same roster are GM-EMD F7A's listed, but this has two pictures which you
can pull up and view. There you will find F7's numbers (3671 and 3721) and
one is clearly blue and the other looks black, but they look solid blue and
solid black minus the yellow stripes that several others have mentioned. If
you are successful in finding any more data concerning these N&W units,
please share it with me. I've already modeled two F7's in an all blue paint
scheme as depicted in the one roster picture. Sure would like to know if I
correct.
Thank you.

A sincere 'thank you' to the several members who virtually by return provided
information after my question about E8s and F7s. I am now much wiser! Maybe
I can meet some of you in Portsmouth in June?
