Good morning!

If you happen to be railfanning this Saturday, Boyce
station at NS milepost H46.1 will be a busy place.
Mack Muir and Nathan Simmons will be around for a
while, and I plan to be at the station until 5 PM.
The Winchester Chapter NRHS has its annual banquet in
Strasburg, so I'll head to that in the evening. There
is also a model train show at the Winchester fire
department community hall. Other railfans have
indicated they'll be chasing the B-Line and may stop
by to get a ATCS monitoring glimpse of what's moving
on the Hagerstown District.

If you'd like to stop by briefly for a snapshot, you
can view sample videos at
http://www.railwaymailservicelibrary.org/videos/
Generally, any clip with a file name that starts out
with YYMMDD is an action shot at Boyce. I usually add
one or two each weekend, so check back periodically.

The purpose of these clips is not high-quality video
documentation of passing trains. Other people can do
a better job; my Sony camcorder doesn't have great
resolution and all shots are hand-held. Instead, they
are to depict train passings at Boyce with some
portion of the station in view, allowing railfans to
preview different shooting angles they can consider if
visiting. They also sample varying lighting
conditions and weather. One must recognize that some
are taken while standing on private property, so
taking similar photos are at one's own risk.

I also welcome thoughts on how to make the Boyce
webcam images generally available on the RMSL website.
Mack has some ideas, but other suggestions are
appreciated. The north and south Axis network cameras
are fully functional; a demo is available to anyone
who stops by when I'm at the station.

Good morning and hope you'll stop by for a chat,
