Another Connundrum for Detective Miller

I remember double track being pulled up in the early to mid-1970's
in the areas around Pulsaski and Radford. Was the excuse for pulling
the double track a result of the demise of passenger service along
with the reduction in output of the mines along the North Carolina
Branch?
