600-610 were built with swinging bells in a recess of the boiler top
shroud. 611-613 were built with rigid mount bells in the same location.
Because they didn't swing, the shroud muted the sound, so they were
moved to the location under the left steps. Don't remember just when,
but shortly after they were built in 1950. Not much later, 600-610
received the same rigid mount bells in the under step location. Jim
