Decreased traffic

Could this be related to the second bridge built or being built over  
Quantico Creek (?) just north of Quantico?

(When I was a kid, I could see that bridge after a short walk from  
the dependent's housing that my family lived in.)

Freight traffic has been rerouted to the west because of the single  
tracked bridge in northern Virginia being closed for major structural  
repairs. It will be closed another 2 - 3 weeks.

The only thru traffic on the line currently is Amtrak & a hot piggy  
back/container freight that goes thru DC via Union Station (of course  
some local freight traffic can be seen north of Richmond).
