JC Cabin

The name "JC Cabin" followed the C&O pattern of naming interlocking plants as "cabins" where there was an interlocking tower, or "cabin" in C&O parlance. At one time there was such a cabin at "JC". The C&O continued to call such locations cabins long after the structure was removed. At locations where there was no tower, the two-letter telegraph call sign was used alone.
