SWIFT IRON HORSE
------
Norfolk, Va., Aug. 22. -- The Norfolk and Western Railway has established a new speed record between this city and Petersburg.
One of the new engines recently turned out at the company's shops at Roanoke and pulling the fast train between here and Richmond, developed a speed of 85 miles an hour.

[Without a doubt this engine was one of the Class J 4-4-2 Atlantic engines with 79" drivers, but these engines were built by Baldwin, not Roanoke Shops, in 1903, plus one built in 1904.]
