Hi Jack :
 
Vardo & Shomo are the same piece of real estate. N&W entered from  the south 
& called the yard Vardo, the Pennsy entered from the north &  called it Shomo.
 
Shomo was the name it was known by the local folks till the Pennsy went out  
of business & NS became the only occupant.
 
I have heard the yard was owned by the N&W & Pennsy rented  from them. (Maybe 
some of the other historians will respond to your  question).
