Matoaka Is Promised Depot by Deepwater
------
Matoaka, the boom town on the Widemouth branch, has been positively assured by Raymond Dupuy, the general superintendent of the Deepwater, that they will have a depot. The new road from all present signs will make Matoaka a transfer point from the Deepwater to the Norfolk and Western.
The new depot will be located about opposite the present site of the Norfolk and Western station and will help the town immensely. So confident are the Matoaka people that a depot will be located at this point that real estate has taken a big jump and high prices are much in evidence.
The town is admirably situated and once plans are made for controlling the creek during flood periods, the town will take its place amng the rapidly growing towns of West Virginia. Two or three Bluefield men have secured land and houses at Matoaka and have been offered double the price they paid for these.
