IN CITY AND COALFIELD
------
Passengers Shaken Up

Eastbound passenger train No. 16 met with a slight accident yesterday afternoon between Kenova and Williamson which might have proved serious. The rails coupled, or in other words, expanded with the heat, bowed up, and when the train ran on them the passengers were given a considerable shaking up, but no one was injured.
------
[Sounds as though someone did not leave sufficient gaps at the joints when the rail was laid.]
