NEW BRIDGES BETWEEN GRAHAM AND NORTHFORK
------
Norfolk and Western Said to Have Made Appropriation of $90,000 for Construction

Roanoke Times: It is stated that the Norfolk and Western has made an appropriation of ninety thousand dollars for the purpose of putting in new bridges at several points between Graham and Northfork. Several bridges in that district, it is said, are in need of repair and several will be replaced with new and more substantial bridges. Two new bridges will be built in the vicinity of Flat Top Yards and there are three near Northfork that will be rebuilt.
The company has also ordered many new improvements to be made at the yards at Wilcoe. The yards will be enlarged and a new dwelling will be built for the yardmaster. The company expects to spend between thirty and forty thousand dollars in improving the Wilcoe yards. The lumber and other material for the Wilcoe work is now arriving and the work will be commenced at once.
The company has not yet commenced the work of rebuilding the depot at Devon. It will be remembered that the Devon depot was destroyed by fire a week ago last Saturday. It is the intention of the company to procure a new location for the depot and also to build a two story building in order that the depot agent can reside over the depot.

[A few thousand dollars would go a long way then.]
