Pocahontas: one or two heavyweight baggage cars, one hvwt.RPO (60' with
round roof), 3 lightweight coaches (series 1723-1734), one lightweight
tavern-lounge-dorm (series 1720-1722), one lightweight diner (493 General
William Mahone or 494 Frederick J. Kimball), 3 lightweight 10-6 Pullmans
(Budd built with smooth sides), one heavyweight 10 section-lounge Pullman
(painted N&W colors including stripes, but lettered PULLMAN).

Cavalier: several heavyweight head end cars, including one RPO (like the one
on the Pocahontas), one heavyweight combine (modernized with streamlined
roof), two coaches (modernized class PG with streamlined roof or maybe 1 PG
and one lightweight from 1723-1734 series), one heavyweight diner (series
1012-1024) and one lightweight Pullman between Roanoke and Williamson (PRR
car on alternate days).

Hope this helps. Jim Nichols

Tony: Give me a year (or period) you want to model, and I will try to tell
you what kinds of cars were on the Pocahontas and Cavalier. After April 1946
and before January 1950, all the cars were heavyweights, with the exception
of a lightweight New York sleeper which started running from Roanoke to
Williamson on the Cavalier in 1948 (replacing a heavyweight car. During
1950 the Pocahontas received lightweight cars for all the coaches, diners
and Pullmans (except one heavyweight Pullman) and the Cavalier got a few
lightweight coaches. These coaches were the cars that had run on the Arrow
from 1946 to late 1949. The lightweight Pullmans and diners were new in late
1949 and early 1950. Jim Nichols
