THE GRAHAM DAILY NEWS
------
Automatic System Now in Operation
The Norfolk and Western's new automatic block system through Graham went into effect yesterday. This work has been in progress for several months and a number of the men in charge of the construction have made their homes in Graham during that time. Edward Zeller, of New York, has had supervision of the installation of the system and with Mrs. Zeller, has lived in Graham during the past six months, making their home with Mrs. L. C. Dodd. Under the new system the operator at the tower is advised by a method of indications automatically operated, the approach of a train two miles away. In this manner he is able to handle the train movement more intelligently than was possible before.

Fell From Bridge
Bev Sarver, who lives in the new cottage near Hobo Inn, had a rather narrow escape from injury Tuesday night. While walking the railroad bridge just east of his home, and thinking that he had crossed the bridge, he stepped off in the middle of the creek, a distance of possibly twenty feet. He waded out wet but uninjured.
