IN CITY AND COALFIELD
------
New Weighing Bulletin
Commencing May 1st the Norfolk and Western will weigh all west bound loads originating west of Vivian and consigned to points to, or west of, Portsmouth at east Williamson scales. Loads originating west of Vivian and consigned to points east of Portsmouth will be weighed at Williamson as at present. No change is announced for western loads originating east of Vivian. Eastern shipments are not affected by this bulletin.
------
[It would be interesting to know the difference between weighing at east Williamson and Williamson proper that was behind this change.]

Attention Locomotive Engineers
The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company will insure you without extra charge on account of your occupation.
K. H. EASLEY, Gen. Agt.
A 'phone message will bring him to see you. 4-18-11
------
[Turning this around, it must mean that other insurance companies considered a locomotive engineer in those days to be high risk for injury or death!]
