USING N&W TRACKS
------
C. & O. Carrying Coal From Kenova to Valley Crossing
It is said in railroad circles that while not yet officially announced the agreement for trackage rights by the Chesapeake and Ohio over the Norfolk and Western, from Kenova to Valley Crossing, has been signed and that with the completion of the new through yards of the Hocking Valley in south Columbus the Chesapeake and Ohio will begin the operation of coal trains over the Norfolk and Western between Kenova and Columbus, turning them over to the Hocking Valley at south Columbus.
The agreement has been pending for some time and will enable the Chesapeake and Ohio to handle a much larger volume of coal to the northwest and the lake docks. The trains over the Norfolk and Western will be operated by the Chesapeake and Ohio, the agreement granting the use of the Norfolk and Western tracks for this purpose.
