Thanks Harry; I suspected that might have been the one. Unfortunately, if
the new Lynchburg train is any indication, it will be an extension of an
existing train (probably one of the ones now terminating in Richmond), and
Amtrak will call it "Northeast Regional #xyz".

Harry:

What PRR train was that?

Thanks in advance,
Dave:
Don't have an old PRR timetable at hand, I'm at the library. By my
recollection, PRR's Cavalier originated in Filthydelphia and
operated down the Delmarva to Cape Charles. There, passengers
were transferred to a ferry for Norfolk. This was PRR's premier
passenger train for the Eastern Shore complete with Pullman
service and hauled by "K" class engines. I suppose Amtrak could
name the new train The Cavalier, but the "Techies" might object.
