GREAT EXAMPLE OF MECHANICAL SKILL
------
Rebuilding of Kenova Bridge Without Interfering With Passenger Trains

As a marvel of mechanical and engineering skill the rebuilding of the Norfolk and Western's Kenova bridge offers a prodigious example. The bridge is being rebuilt, widened and raised more than three feet. This of itself, is not remarkable. But when it is remembered that the work is being done without interfering with the passage of trains across the long bridge and the great river, then the marvel sets in. The work has already progressed for three months, and through traffic has been heaver than ever before, all freight and passenger trains have crossed uninterrupted while the work of widening, raising and strengthening the structure goes on.
Colliers* has a photographic view showing a similar occurrence near Louisville. The Louisville incident, however, does not compare in magnitude to that which is being done at Kenova.
This work is being carried on with a great procession of trains going north and coming south.
