RAILROAD PAY DAY
------
Large Amount of Money Placed in Circulation Yesterday

Yesterday was railroad pay day in Bluefield and a large sum of money was placed in circulation, which should to a certain extent relieve the situation caused by the failure of the Fidelity Bank, which failure tied up over $300,000 in deposits, which may be held for some time pending the action of the receiver who will try to solve the problem so the depositors can receive their money as quickly as possible.
In addition to it being railroad pay day the men who are usually paid off on Saturdays received their money which will enable them to meet many obligations.
So far as can be learned there has not been any trouble in the city as a result of the failure of the bank, and the attitude of the other financial institutions would make it appear that the men who have good security will have little trouble in securing all the money needed.
