New Agent Checked In
George W. Pile, Graham's new agent for the Norfolk and Western, was checked in here yesterday by an auditor of the company to succeed J. H. Saunders, who was promoted to the Pocahontas agency several weeks ago. Mr. Pile comes here from Elkhorn, where he has been agent for a number of years. Graham was fortunate in the selection of Mr. Pile for the position for he is well equipped to fill the place with satisfaction to all concerned. Mr. Pile, like Mr. Saunders, possesses the happy faculty of knowing how to meet and deal with the public, which is a valuable asset for any one to possess whose business it is to wait on the people. Wade H. Frazier has been selected by Mr. Pile as his cashier here and the two, together with E. W. Inge, Miss Mary Anderson and the others, make a combination that it would be difficult to beat.

Changes in Station Forces
It is learned that several changes in the force of the Norfolk and Western agency here are contemplated under the new agent, Mr. Pile, who will probably surround himself with practically a new force. Mr. Warren, the cashier has already resigned and will leave this week for Norfolk.

[Considering today's operations it's difficult to appreciate the importance many years ago of the local railroad agent in his community.]
