THE GRAHAM DAILY NEWS
------
New Coal Company
A new coal company has been organized at St. Clairs as a result of the freight wreck there the other day when 9 coal cars were piled up, spilling four hundred tons of Clinch Valley coal on the right of way.* Eight Bluestone farmers got together, held a caucus and bid $75 on the coal, which was accepted by Superintendent W. S. Becker, who had charge of the wreck. The new coal agency immediately began to solicit business, and propositions here in Graham to teamsters to haul the fuel on the halves have been received and accepted. It is an ill wind that blows no one good and these enterprising speculators proved to be the benefactors in accident on the Norfolk and Western Monday.

*For the article on the wreck see "N&W in 1912-Rumor" posted on the Mailing List 10/20/11.
