Engine Runs Into Turntable Pit
Yesterday morning about 6 o'clock a class W engine, on which the air refused to work, slid out of the roundhouse before it could be stopped by the hostler in charge, and ran into the turntable pit, where it stopped of its own accord. The big engine escaped damage outside of a broken pilot, but gave the wrecking crew some work before it could be picked up and put back on the rails. It was run back into the roundhouse where it will await repairs.
