IN CITY AND COALFIELD
------
Elk's Tooth for Retiring Foreman.
J. W. Andrew, the retiring general foreman at the railroad shops, will be presented today with a handsome Elk's tooth watch charm and a purse of $50 in gold. The watch charm and purse were subscribed for by the men in the shops and are to be given as a tribute to the feeling the men had for the retiring general foreman, who is one of the best men the local shops have had. Mr. Andrew has had several positions offered to him but so far as can be learned has not decided on any position as yet. He was tendered a position on the Norfolk and Western, but it is understood refused it. It is also said that he has been offered a position with the Virginian Railway.
