Hatfield Special Returns
The Hatfield special which left Bluefield Tuesday morning for Huntington, carrying representatives to Huntington to attend the district and state [political] conventions, returned on yesterday, passing through Welch at 1 o'clock. A number of the folks from here who went to the conventions returned on the special, while some of them returned on through trains, No.4 and No.16.

Killed Near Northfork
As he stepped from one track to the other to avoid an oncoming freight train, J. Ben Morris, a carpenter employed by the Lynchburg Coal and Coke Company, walked in front of a train approaching from the opposite direction. He was killed instantly. The accident occurred just east of Northfork about 10:30 o'clock last night.
