Boones Mill Depot coming down?

Lois Slotnick, Executive Director of the Boones Mill Norfolk & 
Western Depot Restoration, Inc. just informed me that a construction 
company has filed for a permit with Franklin County to demolish the 
Boones Mill Depot.

Lois has been working with the town and other preservation 
organizations to protect and preserve the station. Norfolk Southern 
has offered to donate the station on the condition that it be moved 
off their property. Neither Lois' organization nor the town have the 
funds available for moving the depot.
