Your photo was taken from the tank, just as Gary Price suggested.  The old depot house track is still there, and now known as the Virginia House switch that was used by the old furniture plant.  The west switch for the house track was taken out many years ago, and now only the east switch remains.
The photo was taken from the tank looking west toward Marion.  The road crossing visible is now known as Virginia Highlands Avenue.

Does anyone know where the Atkins tanks were in relation to the depot?  Attached is a composite photo of Atkins in the early 1900's.  You can see the depot but the tanks are not visible.  Thanks.
