News on 3 S160s:

#2253 - 1943-Baldwin built ran for the London and North Eastern Railway for 18 months before being shipped to France; operated by USATC from September 1944 - 1947/48; thence with Polish State Railway until withdrawn late 1980s. Found dumped in Poland by North Yorkshire Moors Railway supporters and bought by Peter Best of Steam Power Services. By October 1992 it was back in steam on the NYMR. It was withdrawn 2000 requiring overhaul and bought by NYMR. It was eventually offered for sale this with the possibility of going for scrap. Pete Best is due to buy 2253 again, and it will leave the NYMR by April 2014. It's condition is being stabilised and it will eventually be brought back to steam and running condition.

#5197 - chassis has been overhauled and it should be back on it's wheels by Christmas on the Churnet Valley Railway. Also owned by Greg Wilson is S160 #6046 and three boliers. #5197 is due to return to steam for the 2014 season.
