Lloyd David Lewis, 69, was found dead  in his Kenova apartment on Monday, July 6.  He was born Oct. 12, 1945 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Glenn and Muriel Lewis of Princeton, WV.  He was a 1963 graduate of Princeton High and a 1967 Journalism graduate of Marshall University, where he was editor of The Parthenon, and subsequently earned a Master's degree.

During his career he worked for United Press International in Charleston, was a long-time reporter/editor with the Herald-Dispatch, a public relations representative with Kentucky Power in Ashland and served as long-time manager of News & Community Relations for Chessie System/CSX  in Cleveland and Jacksonville.  In recent years, he was a teacher locally and in China.

Lloyd was a lifelong rail enthusiast, noted author/photographer and historian (especially on the Virginian Ry.).  He published numerous rail books and magazine articles.  He was a member of numerous railroad historical societies and instrumental in the development of the Princeton Railway Museum.

Surviving are a son, Carter D. Lewis (Amber), of Charlotte, NC and a brother, Lowell G. Lewis (Margie) and nephew Glenn Lewis, of Greeley, CO.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member.  Officiating will be Dr. Mark Connor, assisted by lifelong friend Bob Withers, pastor of Seventh Ave. Baptist Church.  A reception at the church will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Methodist church.

His infectious grin and affable manner will be missed.
