Those three miles were the highest  speed track on the whole Pokey, and I’ll bet there was a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on.

Was GC any kin to those fast Kelly boys on the Radford?  There was one, known variously as  “that ol’ BIG Kelly” or “Jelly Belly Kelly” who was known to burn up the Bristol Line in GP9 days.

EdK:Not speaking of performance here, but ratherspeed.  The late G.C.Kelly was in engine serviceon the Pocahontas Div.  He mentioned time spenton the Finney pusher -- that after shoving fromFinney to Honaker Tunnel, the Y would cut offand return lite for the next push.  CrossingFinney Flats, the Y would make 60 MPH.
