Virginian AG's taken over by N&W

By the time the Virginian was merged into the N&W in 1959 steam was on the way out. Stuart Saunders who was president of the N&W at the time dieselized most of the railroad by 1959 and he had no intention of adding more steam power. It would make for an interesting "what if" if N&W was still mainly steam powered had they bought the Virginian and used their AG.
