It's amazing what something small like moving the headlight, front ladders or tender can do to change the looks of an engine. Look at the K-1. Installing the slanted cab and the square sand box really made a huge difference (for the better, to me). Or an M-2 with the change from a 9,000g/14t tender to the long 15,000g/20t version. I'm glad the N&W did so much tender swapping as I like the variety to model.
